One of the things we’ll be doing in Haiti: working with Sean Penn’s J/PHRO on their successful rubble removal project. This paints a good picture of what’s going on they’re still smiling.

—“You do not have to believe in yourself or your work. It is not your business to determine how good it is, how valuable it is, nor how it compares with other expressions. But it is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly to the urges that motivate you.
Keep the channel open… No artist is pleased… There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction; a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.”
There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, the expression is unique. If you block it, it will never exist through another medium and will be lost. The world will never have it.”
—Martha Graham
This is why they say the sky’s the limit…awe-inspiring! How lucky are we??!

—seva means selfless service in Sanskrit, the language of yoga and the challenge is to raise $20,000. If I meet the goal, I will travel to Haiti in February with Off The Mat, Into The World, a yoga organization, and work with groups of people that they’ve made partnerships with.
The money we raise here will go to projects there, and I’ll be doing things like:
• working with JPHRO on their successf…ul rubble removal project
• helping to install water filtration systems for sustainable access to clean water
• building a community center and jumpstarting the reconstruction of the Association of the Peasants of Fondwa’s community project.
• offering funding and building support he Jacmel Children’s Center.
• working with the Faith & Love Orphanage, supporting their dental clinic, and a chicken coop that sustains the kids.
• spending time with both Fonkoze, to be educated about micro-financing and meet loan recipients and time with Zafen, to meet sponsored small businesses
• planting 1,000 trees
